Survivor Live with Lex

Not much insight into Vanuatu (as is typical of Thursdays), just general Survivor chit-chat.

He's glad they mixed up the tribes. They formed alliances early so it was hard to get to know the individuals. Sixteen is a lot of players and this one started with eighteen, so it is really hard to get to know the Castaways. Also there are so many Survivor scholars now that castaways are so guarded and careful that it's hard to see the real people.

There are two general ways of playing Survivor. 1. Hard and Obvious, like Richard Hatch and Ami in Vanuatu. This has to be balanced with one or two people you can trust. 2. Slide Through (aka Fly Under the Radar). This is easier than Hard and Obvious, but riskier too. Most Castaways play Under the Radar.

Lex thinks Ami is playing well. She's not afraid to stick her neck out and make the tough calls. However his favorites are Chad and Scout. He doesn't like Eliza, "she has to go, like yesterday".

Lex prepared for All-Star Survivor by gaining twenty pounds and taking a month in Hawaii to learn survival techniques.

Amber/Boston Rob. She started out just playing him as a strategy but they fell in love. (Ahhh, isn't that so romantic?)

As fewer and fewer Castaways remain strategy becomes more and more important. Once only a dozen or so are left and the tribes merge Richard will be better able to comment on who will win. This Survivor is particularly hard to read since alliances were formed so early in both tribes. Past strategies are risky to re-use because Mark Burnett (the producer) watches too and he changes the game from Survivor to Survivor.
