Survivor Live with Travis
Survivor Live, the Internet Talk Show
Guest: Travis Sampson (aka Bubba)
Hosts: Chris Booker & Richard Hatch, winner first Survivor
Even-though I'm not a fan of Bubba's, he did have some nice insights into how the game is being played on Vanuatu.
Comments made by Bubba
His strategy was to not let the others see that he was playing the game. (Is this a variation of "flying under the radar"?) Bubba was in tight with Chris, who's actively and openly playing the game. They were planning to go to the final three with Rory, who they thought no one would give the million dollars to. Furthermore Rory could be voted off whenever the need arose. They (Bubba & Chris) were making Sarge feel like he was the leader. Chris was also a focus of the tribe, which was fine for Bubba because no one was thinking about him playing the game with Sarge and Chris in the limelight. By the way, Chris was really struggling on the beam. He wasn't throwing the challenge.
Fat Five
Early on the four young bucks boasted quite openly about being an alliance. So the other five formed an alliance as a result of the young ones' stupidity (four out of nine is not a safe majority).
In the New Tribe
The Fat Five tried to plan for something like the new coed tribes, but you can't plan for everything. Lisa warned him before the Immunity Challenge that Ami didn't like him and that he was the most likely to be voted off. That's why he took the chance in communicating with Chris; he was a goner anyway. Bubba was connecting with Scout, but this game is not about making friends.
Orange Bob Barker t-shirt
It was his lucky shirt. "Everyone" had one in high school. He and his grandfather used to watch Price is Right together.
Comments made by Richard Hatch
Richard had fewer comments of note than is usually the case. Bubba was the real talkative one today, which is how it should be. Ami is looking like she is in control and playing well. However she is sticking out a little bit now, which isn't good for her. Lisa must be playing some sort of game we're not seeing. Otherwise he feels she's playing real bad. Chris is being too obvious in his support of Sarge.
